Master P’s brother C-Murder was sentenced to life 2 years ago for killing a 16-year-old fan at a Louisiana club in 2002. He’d made an appeal earlier this year, saying he’d been denied a fair trial but yesterday, a three-judge appeals court panel upheld the conviction and his life sentence.

Rapper C-Murder has pleaded no contest to two counts of attempted second-degree murder. In the plea agreement, C-Murder, whose real name is Corey Miller, will be sentenced by the judge to 10 years in prison. The formal sentencing will be August 25th

Jury selection finally got under way Tuesday in Miller’s attempted murder trial, nearly eight years after the rapper allegedly tried to shoot two men at a Baton Rouge nightclub. In the Baton Rouge case, Miller is accused of trying to shoot the owner of Club Raggs and a bouncer. Jury selection will resume today. No jurors were picked Tuesday. Three dozen of the nearly 50 potential jurors being questioned said they have heard of Corey Miller. The trial is expected to last until Friday,state District Judge Tony Marabella said. Judge Hans Liljeberg sent Murder behind bars on March 9th, because he believed the New Orleans rapper allegedly left his house for about 10 minutes. Murder and his attorney claim that he was actually sleeping at the time and the tracking device used to monitor him malfunctioned.

Murder was released today around noon.

As previously reported C-Murder is being charged for the murder of a 16-year-old in 2002. He is due to stand trial a second time for the charges after the first one was ruled a mistrial.

According to The Associated Press, police claim that the rapper’s electronic monitor indicated early Monday morning that he was out of range for about 10 minutes.

Ron Rakosky, C- Murder’s lawyer, claims that his client was at home sleeping when he received a call from authorities at 3 a.m. notifying him that the monitor indicated he was out of range.

C-Murder, born Corey Miller is accused of killing sixteen year old Steve Thomas in 2002 during a brawl at the defunct Platinum Club in Louisiana.

The rapper has been under house arrest since he was released on $500,000 bond in 2006 after his murder conviction was overturned and he was granted a new trial.

During a hearing last month, prosecutors tried to persuade a judge to throw C-Murder in jail claiming that the rapper had repeatedly violated his house arrest but their request was turned down.

C-Murder testified during the February hearing that he had never left his home.

The rapper’s aunt, Joyce Marie Miller, also took the stand and said that C- Murder had never left his home. She also claimed that the monitor appeared to malfunction at times.

C-Murder could see his bond increased if the accusations stick.

The rapper’s re-trial on second degree murder charges is scheduled to begin on April 20th.
