Busta was originally supposed to drop the BS album on Interscope last year, but instead he left the label. Busta then said his album would be called Blessed, and slated it for a July release. July came and went without any new Busta Rhymes LP, and now Busta is going back to the old album title and prepping for a December 9th drop date via Universal/Motown. He’s celebrating with a free show with Pac Division and Mick Boogie at the Knitting Factory on October 29th.

Record labels are approaching another financially weak year, as a minimum of 200 million albums in the last quarter is now required in order to break even with last year’s low total.

According to Variety, the music industry officially closed out with a total of 297.9 million albums sold for the third quarter making it already 12 percent less than the previous year. 2007 saw a total of 500.5 million in sales with over 30 percent of the records purchased stemming from the fourth quarter. However, this year the industry would have to up the amount to over 40 percent.

With a strong line-up of upcoming albums believed to drop before 2009 including releases from Kanye West, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes and possible albums from Dr. Dre, Eminem and Andre 3000, the goal may still be attainable.

Busta Rhymes was allegedly recently dropped from the label. Our sources indicate that the dropping of Busta Rhymes comes just days after he had a heated argument and phone conversation over his tracks with Interscope Records President, Jimmy Iovine.

Busta Rhymes’ Blessed has been pushed back from its July 1st date. There is currently no concrete date set, but Interscope Records is eyeing a late summer release.

 Ciara’s third conceptual album Fantasy Ride is now scheduled for an October release. The first single was originally slated to be “High Price” with Ludacris, but that may change.

The Game’s L.A.X. has been moved to July 22nd. According to Billboard, the album will feature a bevy of collaborations including Common, Ne-Yo, Chrisette Michele, Travis Barker, Ludacris, Ice Cube, and Bilal.

A man who used to work security for rapper Busta Rhymes was shot multiple times and found dead in the back of his pickup truck on Wednesday May 28th.

Jermaine Williams, 35, of the Bronx, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in Ozone Park, Queens.

Police found blood dripping from the backseat of his SUV when they discovered Williams’ body, which was wrapped in a blanket in the backseat of the SUV.

Sources have confirmed with AllHipHop.com that Williams, also known as “Black,” was once Rhymes’ bodyguard, although he had not been employed by Rhymes for almost eight years.

Busta Rhymes has been on a tour of Europe and was not in the country at the time of the incident sources told AllHipHop.com.

Williams, who leaves behind two children, reportedly went to Queens to visit his grandmother and ended up missing for almost 24 hours.

Police are still seeking the suspects who committed the murder.

Busta Rhymes’ former bodyguard Israel Ramirez was shot dead on February 5, 2006, outside of a warehouse, where a music video for the remix to Rhymes’ single “Touch It” was being shot.

Ramirez, 29, was shot in the chest in front of the building, where as many as 500 people may have witnessed the shooting.

To date, a shooter has never been identified and Rhymes has denied any knowledge of Ramirez’ shooting.
